We are guaranteed moments when we walk through the wilderness; this is the one thing about life that remains steadfast and true. Things will not always be easy, life will not always be good; sometimes we will be made to wait, patiently, while the sea rages in order for the storm to pass. What we do during this period of waiting is of utmost importance. We can waste away and delve into a woe-is-me sense of self or we can prepare ourselves to hit the ground running once the clouds overhead have dissipated. Trial is natural. Tribulation is natural. Waiting is natural. Bettering yourself through each and every one of these situations is unnatural- and unnatural is what we’ve been called to be.
Of all the hardships a person has to face, none is more punishing than the simple act of waiting.
Took some advice from a friend and have begun reading a Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.
So far so good, hopefully it’ll pull me out of my creative drought
"People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."
Even though they’ve come farther than I expected, I’d still enjoy one more win.
"Be picky with who you invest your time in, wasted time is worse than wasted money."
